ABOUT Dr. Erin Hammett

Dr. Hammett is a triple board-certified physician in rheumatology, internal medicine, and lifestyle medicine, with additional certification as a health coach. With over a decade of experience in complex autoimmune care, she brings a rare and highly sought-after combination of rigorous clinical training and integrative, patient-centered care—positioning her at the forefront of innovation in autoimmune disease management.

She earned her medical degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her rheumatology fellowship at Scripps Green Hospital, a nationally recognized leader in subspecialty training. Prior to joining WellTheory, Dr. Hammett practiced at Sutter Health, where she specialized in caring for patients with complex autoimmune and inflammatory disorders.

Throughout her career, Dr. Hammett has championed a care model that combines the latest advancements in evidence-based medicine with a root-cause lens. Her clinical philosophy reflects a deep understanding that conventional approaches often overlook the multifactorial drivers of chronic disease—leaving patients without long-term relief or sustainable outcomes.

She now joins WellTheory as Medical Director, where she leads clinical strategy and care model development for the company’s high-touch, outcomes-driven platform. Her work integrates personalized nutrition, targeted lifestyle interventions, and longitudinal support to improve quality of life, reduce symptom burden, and lower avoidable healthcare costs for individuals living with autoimmune conditions.

Outside of her clinical leadership, Dr. Hammett is a devoted wife and mother of four, a dedicated yoga practitioner, and a strong advocate for using nutrition and lifestyle medicine as evidence-based tools in chronic disease management.
